HASTINGS TO RYE – SUSSEX (LINEAR)

Starts at 11:20: Hastings station (Map: E124/125)
This is a vigorous & challenging walk starting with some steep ups & downs through the Hastings Country Park & along cliff tops. After this, the terrain levels out to later pass via Winchelsea & on to Rye.
Lunch: Picnic only.
Train: London Bridge 9.54; Orpington 10.10; Arr 11.19 (Hastings train).Return from Rye. Buy two singles.

Sat 2 June 2018 10:30 – 9 miles/14.5 km – Moderate

OTFORD TO SHOREHAM VIA LULLINGSTONE – KENT (LINEAR)

Starts at 10:30: Otford Station [Map:E147] (TN14 5QY, TQ532593)
Uphill East along the North Downs Way. Footpaths via fields and woods at Magpie Bottom and Austin Spring, then over the ridge for the steep descent to Shoreham and along Darent Valley path to the lunch stop. Uphill West, through woods and farmland to the ridge above Shoreham Cross and on to Shoreham Station. Steep hills, stiles and can be muddy.
Lunch: Lullingstone Visitor Centre. Picnic or cafe.
Train: Victoria 9.52; Bromley S 10.09; Arr 10.28 (Ashford train). Buy return to Otford.

HASSOCKS TO LEWES IN EAST SUSSEX (LINEAR)

Starts at 10:35: Hassocks Station [Map:E122] (BN6 8JD, TQ304155)
Moderate-to-brisk pace walk along the crest of the South Downs, with wonderful views in all directions. Approaching Lewes alongside the River Ouse via Offham.
Lunch: Picnic/Pub lunch at the Half Moon in Plumpton.
Train: Victoria 9:27; Clapham Jct 9:33; E Croydon 9:42; Arr 10.32 (Brighton train). Buy return to Lewes.
